The Department of Medical Education,” Yamawaki lab”-Based at Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine is established in 2010 for the purposes of improving medical educational programs and top-shelf medical care to the rural citizens of Kyoto and greater Japan.
The depertment focuses on excellence in teaching for medical students and residents. We provide clinical clerkship program to medical students with interact with real patients much as a physician does. Through the clinical clercship, students will learn the fundamentals of clinical examination (from primary to specialty care), evaluation, and care provision. Also we are working on improvement in education program for residents. Our clinical practice program provides clinical skills and knowledge to residents that will enhance their residency experience, enrich their future careers and allow them be superior medical professionals.
We also provide general medical care at KPUM hospital. In addition to clinical work on KPUM hospital, we contribute to the improvement of local medical care in Kyoto and the surrounding communities.
